Re: Supporting a friend with terminal illness

@Zoe7 Afternoon sis Smiley Happy

I am glad you slept well last night- I didn't sleep as well

How do you download songs for your mobile I have not done it in ages?

I have to go down to the pool before it shuts I am not sure of opening hours today.

I woke up this morning and Kira was in her bed- she is such a little darling

I hope you get your book sorted for your mum

I better go too, I have to go make some lunch and then I might head down to the pool

Re: Supporting a friend with terminal illness

Hi lil sis @Former-Member

I so wish you could sleep sis Smiley Sad I had a sleep this afternoon also - still really tired. It's a never ending cycle - can't sleep at all at night then can't stay awake during the day. Really need to get this sorted or will never be able to go back to work.

Didn't go to the beach today (slept instead).

Got mum's book sorted and bought party supplies for tonight just in case you did stay home - party hat, eye wear, balloons and a party mask (that one's a surprise). All pink and white which is strange for me to buy because pink is definitely not my favourite colour!!!!

Kira is such a good little girl sleeping in her bed. Toby sleeps on the pillow next to me - not always ideal when he kicks me in the head or has puppy dreams and barks in my ear!

Hope you got to the pool for your swim. Is your mum still staying with you?

I don't know what kind of phone you have - if it's an iphone I can't help but if it's an android phone downloading is easy (possibly so with an iphone also - I just don't like them). I went through google chrome - did song search - found the song (free) -clicked the link - installed it into my playlist then set it as my ringtone from there.

I'm going out to get some dinner - not sure what yet - but really don't feel like cooking tonight so might be takeaway.

Hope you've had a good afternoon. Back about 6:30pm

Heart your big sis

Re: Supporting a friend with terminal illness

Hi sis @Zoe7 Heart

Thanks for the update sis Smiley Happy

I went to the pool and it was great to be in the water and so refreshing

Yes my mum is still here, she will be here until at least Tuesday

I'm thinking of getting some takeaway too-  just some fish n chips

I have a samasung galaxy 6- I have never owned a Iphone before because I much prefer samsung- apps are free and the screen is much tougher on the samsung but I guess it comes down to personal choice

I think we both need to tackle our sleep problem and perhaps include in our weekly goals, I think mine is worse I never get 8 hours sleep. I woke up with headache this morning.

I am looking forward to new beginnings in 2017.

Re: Supporting a friend with terminal illness

Hi lil sis @Former-Member Heart

Fish and chips sound good - I went to KFC. Only do that a few times a year (if that) - not big on junk food. Would rather make my own - lots of salads and vegies - yummy! I did get coleslaw as well!!!!

I have a samsung as well - had a nokia when they first came out 20+ years ago and have had samsungs since. Find them much easier to navigate around. Mine is a tiny little mini phone. I have never really used it much - more for emergencies and a contact number for others. My home phone is private so I don't give the number out to many people - safety first!

I seem to be using my phone heaps atm though - appointments, texts etc. - GP has been texting every few days and sending photos of different things. Also can get the forum up and have been using it when I'm out for other searches. Actually looked at a new phone today (still a samsung) because my little one is too slow and the screen is tiny. Probably won't go as big as a Galaxy 6, maybe a J1 - will still do what I need it for but won't cost as much.

I only ever get 8 hours sleep (and very rarely) when I've had some help!!! Lucky to get 3 or 4 hours without it. It's no wonder you have a headache sis - we need to get this sleep stuff sorted otherwise we aren't going to be able to tackle all our other goals either - we just can't function properly like this!

2017 - priority 1 - tackle sleep problems

priority 2 - achieve our goals

@Zoe7 Hi again sis

Just letting you know I have read your message.

Talk to u soon xox

Re: Supporting a friend with terminal illness

That's sweet - no rush lil sis @Former-Member Enjoy your dinner first. I'm actually awake enough to read through some other threads - trying to catch up a bit Heart

Re: Supporting a friend with terminal illness

Hi sis @Zoe7 Heart

I was thinking of having KFC too but I went with the fish n chips for din dins.

I think the first phone I got was a sony but I think back in 96 the sony phone was cutting edge technology and I've had a few nikoa phones over the years too.

I need to watch what I eat, I need to start looking after myself more. I am glad to hear you take such good care of yourself. I have to start eating more salads and training a bit harder too- I think that would make me happy.

I am really private person and I generally just have family visit me at home and a few friends. I don't give out my home address or phone number to anyone. I have an old schoolfriend we reconnected last year and I am bit worried about her, she seems really unstable to me. I have tendency to care too much.

When I was in my early 20's I would be happy to have anyone visit and everyone was welcome. I am just a bit hesitant now because I live alone and you don't know who you are inviting in to your home. I prefer to be safe and not to have any dramas in my life- I don't think I could cope.

I really do struggle with sleep and like what you said it does really affect how you function- day to day. I try not to dwell on it though, because it just worsens how I sleep, so I just try to be a bit more relaxed about it. I have found keeping a sleep diary does help, and I might try that again. I just write down when I went to sleep, and when I woke up.

I think on Tuesday I am going to sign up for masters swimming and start to get organized for 2017. I am going to read some of the other threads. Some advice from big sis is needed.

Re: Supporting a friend with terminal illness

Hi lil sis @Former-Member

What would you like me to (try) and give you advice on first?

Re: Supporting a friend with terminal illness

All good sis I have it sorted, I am not someone who usually asks for advice, I have always worked things out for myself @Zoe7

Re: Supporting a friend with terminal illness

@Former-Member I know that sis that's why I am a little worried about you because you don't ask for help and/or advice and it takes a lot for you to even consider it. I am more than happy to drop it but it really sounded like you were reaching out for some support.and I do want to be able to support you like you do me xxxx
