Re: Sunday Social Chat

@Cuddlebear I'm glad you feel more relaxed in the evenings, although it would be nice to feel that way all the time. That covid needs to bugger off for you but at least Sunday chats are here and trying to keep up with that is always fun 😂.

Being here surrounded by supportive people is always helpful 😊

Re: Sunday Social Chat

Good evening @tyme, I didn't realise they still were doing covid shots, I've just had a cruisy day, thinking I had been doing something right for months only to find out I wasn't.

Re: Sunday Social Chat

@Blackcloud I'm glad you decided to come and chat for a bit. I always love to see you around here 😊.

I'm feeling very fragile but being here and chatting helps to keep my mind distracted.

How are you going?

Re: Sunday Social Chat

@tyme this is actually a very serious question.

I care for the environment and in my culture I am a custodian of country

So to try to care for the air, I only burn seasoned hardwood that has been cleared from infrastructure projects ie not just logged from forests.

Hardwood burnt correctly, even with the highest quality flue filters should not cause build up in chimney for like 50-100 years.

This is why traditionally we do not clean chimneys/flues in Australia we mostly have hardwood naturally. In USA where they burn a lot of softwood inlcuding pine they need to clean their chimneys because the resin in the pine builds up on inside of chimney,

In the UK in the past they burnt poor quality coal, because the best stuff was used in industry and so low grade coal was cheap, they also needed to clean their chimneys, hence the traditional job of chimney sweeps. Thankfully due to environmental standards people can no longer burn low quality coal in UK

Sorry ridiculously long answer.

TLDR - only burn hardwood

Re: Sunday Social Chat

@tyme not much this past week, but I have been quite sick since Tuesday. But today I’ve been feeling better, like I’d say around 95% better as I still have that bit of tickly throat so I’ve been coughing a little from that here and there.

Lemon and honey has helped me within the past days.

Re: Sunday Social Chat

Lazy day here @tyme 😁

Pancakes 🥞 for breakfast

Watching line of duty series

Re: Sunday Social Chat

@tyme I've just been doing chores, washing, shopping, dishes, housework etc.

Glad you spent Saturday resting, hope you have caught up on things now.

Re: Sunday Social Chat

@MissGremlin Thank you, and that’s sweet of you my friend ❤️ I always love to see you around here as well!

I’m glad to know that being here helps keeping you distracted from any negative thoughts or feelings 🙂 I’m feeling okay, just chilling in bed right now to chat on here.

Re: Sunday Social Chat

@Shaz51 @Yes I have a female Eclectus parrot. She’s turning 5 in August 🙂 She’s sleepy bird now but was out flying about and causing mayhem during the day. She can say heaps of words and can sing twinkle twinkle little star! I sing it to her everyday and she’s picked it up too! Do you like birds?

Re: Sunday Social Chat

Hi @Shaz51 @Former-Member I hope you are having a good evening.

It rained heavily overnight & this morning here.

Lower temperatures, & it's been a bit chilly.

This was our first good rainfall for the Winter rainy season.

I was still having to hand-water my plants, up until a day ago.
