Re: The Weekly Friday Feast

heeeeey @Crazy_Bug_Lady!

So happy you're here! Thinking serving up some Mexican tonight. Veggie tacoes anyone???

Cleaning is not fun.

Some tips? Hmmm, I start from one corner, or one part of my house and work my way out. Also, music helps! Something that motivates you. Cleaning can be a nice way to zone out and feel productive.

Re: The Weekly Friday Feast

Oh cleaning.... Behind here too, I'm waiting for the fairies to come do it...
My support worker thinks o should do a daily plan to do some jobs every day, which makes sense but things have been fairly chaotic and out of routine so waiting to get a bit more settled

How are you, other than procrastinating on the cleaning ?!? 😍😎

Re: The Weekly Friday Feast

Ooohhhh tacos sound good. What do you put in them??
I have a bit of an upset tummy, but I hope I can manage virtual food. 😂

I'm trying to do one room at a time, but I keep getting sidetracked... I'll start picking up rubbish, then put down the bag and start rearranging the bookshelf.
I'm listening to Welcome to Nightvale while I'm cleaning. It's a Community Radio sort of podcast from a fake town (Nightvale).

Re: The Weekly Friday Feast

Haha, I do the same thing @Crazy_Bug_Lady with cleaning. I don't mind if I get side tracked eventually the side tracked things somehow come together to get the house clean. But what I think is helpful to limit the space that I am cleaning. For instance, I am cleaning the corner part of my bedroom and nothing else until it's done. That way there's only so much to side track you!

In my tacos I use tofu with some spices (paprika, cumin, and little bit of chilli, and oregano), and little splash of apple cider vinegar, and garlic. Fry up 'em all up in a pan, and then serve with fresh capsicum, jalapenos, tomatoes, cucumber, and lettuce, and guacamole, and bobs your uncle! Quick, and healthy. Smiley Very Happy

Re: The Weekly Friday Feast

@Crazy_Bug_Lady - I'm working on this kind of stuff too.

While you're on the net - check the weather forecast and decide when you're gunna do some laundry next.  If you can't remember when you last changed your bathroom hand towels and kitchen towels - slip them into your next wash.  I was taught washing those kinds of towels once a week was good, (though it doesn't always happen) and I might change them more often if the family is sick.

Open your windows - let the dust bunnies fly free!

One gross and 'you wouldn't really think about it' job I recently did which may or may not apply to you, is that I used a set of tweezers to get a hairball or two out of the rollers in my desk chair.  You might also like to look here for some 'you wouldn't really think about it' challenges.

Something you might think about is microwaving your kitchen sponge.

Do you have any good resources that you know of for the bare bones of 'how to clean something'?

Hahahaha @CannonSalt !!
Unf*ck your habitat! Sounds hilarious, and useful.
No, I don't really know about the basics... I live by myself, and don't have any furry pets. Things like changing towels don't really occur to me. I changed my sheets for the first in a long time today...
Oh goodness writing that makes me sound like a slob...
I swear I can pass for a clean human thing when needed...

Re: The Weekly Friday Feast

Holy! When did it get to 6pm!!
I want to vacuum and hang out the washing. Then all that's left looking trashed is the kitchen...

When is it too late to vacuum?? I live in a set of squishy units...

Re: The Weekly Friday Feast

Cleaning eats up time!

I don't think 6pm is too late. I think up until 8pm is ok. Any others have thoughts on this?

You're so thoughtful to consider other people in your unit @Crazy_Bug_Lady!

Re: The Weekly Friday Feast

Hey, I just admitted to de-hairballing my desk chair rollers... 🙂 Sheets are a pain for me as well - I feel like I should change them more often than I do.

Re: The Weekly Friday Feast

Thanks CB, more that because we are so close to each other, I don't want to annoy anyone.
My last neighbours had a young baby. I was almost tiptoing around, that kid would start crying and never stop...
I did have a neighbour that moved a year after I moved in. She was horrible. She'd get grumpy at me for not wanting to hang out, and then have incredibly loud s*x. The joys of my living room sharing her bedroom wall...
While we don't really talk, my neighbour on the other side does shift work. He comes and goes all different times. He tries to be quiet, but he parks his scooter under my bedroom window...
