How to fast track psychiatry access

Content/trigger warning
Hi all, sorry I know I am asking a lot... we have a psychiatry appt in May but really need one sooner for diagnosis and discussion surrounding options. Apart from presenting to an ED what avenues, if any, are there for fatser psychiatry access in public health? I read about CATT - crisis assessment and treatment team, yet don't quite understand if they assist outpatients and how to get support through them. Any information would be greatly appreciated, Inc if the mental health line is a suitable option to access resources. We are rural, which makes it difficult,  yet happy to travel. Thanks so much

Re: How to fast track psychiatry access

Hey @Sharni-lea ,

Is this the first time you are seeing this psychiatrist?

I wonder if you are able to ring around to see other psychiatrists?

In the past, if I really needed to see someone, I would ask them to call me any time there was a cancellation. And yes, often people cancel. I then just take the appointment. Do you think that will help?
