Re: I will...

I will stop writing to-do lists hoping that will magically make things get done, and I will actually start doing things. That seems like a much more sensible approach 😉

Hope today is good for you @Former-Member 🙂

Re: I will...

Hi @CheerBear
My to do lists are so long at the moment, mostly work stuff (cry). @Faith-and-Hope had a good idea to write shorter lists so that they were more manageable and not so overwhelming which works well for day to day stuff.

today i will get organised for going back to school/work tomorrow.

Re: I will...

My Mumma taught me that @Former-Member, @CheerBear ...... she was actually applying it to child-raising.

Often parents will give a baby lots of toys to play with at once, but that can be overwhelming for them. She said it was better to have a toy basket in sight if you wanted, but insist on only giving the baby one toy at a time, so if they want another one, you hold the toy that they want out to them, but you also ask them to give you the toy they are already holding, so they learn very quickly to either value the one they have, or be prepared to exchange it for something that seems better to them in the moment.

It's the same with flooding a small child's plate with food, especially if you are expecting them to eat all of it. We are not talking about exchange here tho !! Lol ❣️ I this instance it is better than o place a few small amounts of food on the plate, and offer more if the child eats it all, perhaps focussing on what they liked best ..... and they are likely to stop requesting when they are full, which you can assist by asking them whether they are full yet, or if they are full but still want more, perhaps stop for now, and have some more at the next meal or snack time.

They are life-skills. My Mumma was good at that ..... 😊

You can create a list of one item if you choose, but perhaps that is as intimidating to getting started as a long list is. I think our brains like have a choice. A list of three items gives you that, and if you do two of them and choose to exchange the third for something else ..... whoopie-do .... does it really matter ? By then you're actually getting things done, and might get on a roll of stuff that's not on the list-of-three ......

💜

Re: I will...

Good luck with your list and getting your back to school stuff ready @Former-Member 😞

Your mumma was a clever one @Faith-and-Hope (I can see where you might have gotten some of your loveliness from) 💗

I'm feeling overwhelmed and like I need to clone me today. I'm also in lots of pain which I think is exacerbated by stress, but feeling this pain is causing stress itself 😞 I'm having a quiet cuppa and a rethink of my list/plan of attack today.

I will get there. Hope/believe you both/all will too

Re: I will...
