You have shown a lot of courage to express what you have been going through. It sounds excruciating and incredibly complex, but I do hope that there is some solace in knowing you are not alone

Welcome to the forums @Peggy8 ..... 👋.  Your situation sounds very hard to bear up under too.  Have you contacted Carers Australia ?  There may be respite opportunities that you are not aware of, and are you registered as your son's carer with Centrelink ?  You may be eligible for Carer Support Benefit.  Please only answer these questions here if you are comfortable, but perhaps the asking of them will provide you a new direction for support ...... and self-care is a very important counterweight, even if only holding a warm cup of tea between your hands ......
