Flaky skin on the legs can be a symptom of cellulitis, a bacterial infection of the skin and underlying tissues. Cellulitis is often triggered by bacteria entering through a break in the skin, like a cut or a crack. While not always a primary symptom, flaky skin can develop as a result of the inflammation and healing process after an infection.
